We all work hard, long hours, and we appreciate you taking note of the gate and office times, in order to not disturb anyone after hours, unless in an emergency. gates open at 8am daily.
The gate closure time are as follows.
on Saturday/Sunday in summer we lock at 6pm
Friday night we lock at 8pm
every other day and winter weekends, we lock at 5pm.
Mountain Sanctuary Park is one of the quietest, most peaceful places in South Africa, please treat the Sanctuary, its property,its guests and staff with the respect they deserve.
l. All fees are payable in South African Rand and exlude VAT. please ask for a quote inclusive of VAT and entrance to ensure you get the correct rates.
2. Reservations: Payment in full is required when making reservations. Bookings only become binding on us recieving payment in full. Bookings will be cancelled if payment is not received by the due date. forms to be filled in and sent back to us please,and please note the cancellation policy .
3. CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled within 10 days of the booking date, for whatever reason, or not taken up on the occupation date the booking will be cancelled and the full amount forfeited. no refunds will be given or transfering of bookings made.
this also applys to changes made due to undesirable weather predictions.
cancellations and changes made more than 10 days before the boking date will be liable to a 20% fee.
guided hikes are non refundable and the time slot is for the time booked only. if you are late, or the hike is delayed for any reason, you will either forfeit the time, or pay for additional time if this is available.
Fees for all accommodation and camping are charged per person per night. All accommodation must be vacated by Ilh00 am on the day of departure. an additional fee can be paid at reception, should you wish to park at reception after check out and hike some more
4. Visitors renting accommodation are responsible for any loss. Damage or breakages to furniture, appliances, crockery etc. and that they will make good on any damages or breakages.
The accommodation is not serviced during visitor's stay; visitors are not to leave dirty dishes on their departure. a service can be booked at an additional fee should prefer to arrange this.
A RI50.00 CASH key deposit is charged on arrival.
5. THIS IS A QUIET NATURE RESERVE. ANYONE PLAYING MUSIC, RADIOS, TVs, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS etc OR BEING ROWDY at any time, anywhere ont he sanctuary WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.
COMPLETE QUIET IS ENFORCED FROM 2IhOO.
6. DO NOT tamper with fish, fauna, flora or stone formations in any way. No trees, flowers or other plants on the reserve may be cut, removed or destroyed whether dead or alive. Scientific studies may only be carried out with the permission of the manager and must be arranged in advanced.
7. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PARK. Any visitors insisting on bringing pets onto the reserve will be turned away.
8. NO LOCAL DEAD WOOD IS TO BE BURNT.
this includes, no twigs, branches etc, neither in camp, the veld, dead or alive....Visitors may bring their own wood, but wood and charcoal are on sale at the office. To conserve insect and bird life
9. FIRES MAY ONLY BE MADE IN THE Allocated BRAAI AREAS IN THE REST CAMP. Please extinguish them before retiring at night or leaving your site/unit. no bonfires!
10. Firearms, traps and snares or any article capable of destroying wild must be left for safekeeping at the office. To be in possession of any such article on the reserve will be considered an offence
11. NO REFUSE OR LITTER may be deposited anywhere except in the rubbish bins provided. Remember STOMPIES' constitute litter!! It is expected that visitors will bring back to the rest camp, whatever they take into the mountains. Bottles and glassware must not be taken into the mountains due to the risk of broken glass, especially in the mountain streams.
